Bigdog, have you considered just adding your old CD+g player to your mixer and amp rack and run it into another channel of the mixer to use if someone brings their own disks?

Sorry been away a awhile. Compuhost isn't that hard. You need to rip the CDGs with any ripping program into a format compuhost can run. It runs just about all of them but I use zipped WMA+G format. CDGRip is a pretty cool program in my opinion. Once they are ripped, open compuhost and import them in...

You should be able to change yoru hibernation settings to keep the display on even with the lid closed. I had an issue that I couldn't figure out. Sometimes I would be moving the pointer while a song was playing and it would suddenly stop. Turns out the little pencil eraser thing that you can use to...

Using CDGRip. The same people that make compuhost. I think I have it figured out. I think itmay be a speed issue of the drive but I can't for the life of me find the property to slow it down.

Anyone have this problem????

Songs you rip from you CDG's skip when played on the machine? The CD audio treack plays just fine with the disc in the drive. I was quite excited at how fast my laptops drive was ripping but since I have to do it all over, Iam not so excited. I can't seem to get a clean rip off this thing. GRRR.

Regarding extension cables, look on ebay for vga cables. I bought a 25 foot long one for $5 or so. I think max length you can go on a standard VGA terminal is 50 feetbut it has been a long time since I looked at that.

I plan to get a backup laptop. I can get them for 400 anyway. Maybe less if I look hard enough and a back up doesn't have to be as good as the original. I already have my music on 2 seperate external drives so that is backed up. I am running a power conditioner in my rack and my laptop can honestly ...

compuhost does pretty much everything you are looking for. The only down side of it is that I think it costs somewhere around $180. It has a good search feature but it wont search as you type. Something they should think about doing in a future release. I couldn't tell you about comparing reg karaok...

I have some of the Hisonic mics. They are ok. A lot of breath popping with them. most of that I can eliminate with electronics but not all. For the most part they seem to be fine. We will se how they last after being dropped a few times.
