Any time someone comes up to me to hand me a slip or whatever, I greet them with a smile and eye-contact. Am I smiling the whole night? Absolutely not. :P

As a customer, I can say that if it wasn't for karaoke I wouldn't be at the bar or drinking. However, I do not believe in the term "enabler". We are all responsible for our own actions. It makes no difference if others make it "easier" for us or not. If I have been at a bar all n...

Sounds to me like Sound Choice has gone over the deep end. This is absolutely ridiculous that you can't have a back-up copy, are renting the songs, and, if I read correctly, can't give you permission to use these in a public venue.

Wow ... just wow.

I do take my own drinks, but for a different reason. The Deli owner is getting us for a pretty cheap price, and she can't comp us a soda. And now, she has taken the water button off the soda machine. I make sure she gets not one dime out of me. Free soft drinks and a meal/gift card are part of any ...

Only because all the water from the north is being sent to the south.

I probably would. If nothing else, for the convenience of leaving most of the equipment there.

I recetly had a KJ tell me, though, that business has slowed down ever since they opened their third show at a location.

Is is possible to have too many karaoke nights at one location? With the same KJ?

Sounds like too much of a pain in the a$$ for me to deal with.

Thank you both very much for your answers.

By the way, even though I'm not posting much, I'm still coming in on a regular basis. Have to make sure the dog behaves himself.

AVI to CD+g Converter

A couple of my regulars were KJ's and have the complete set of Pioneer Laser discs. They would like to convert them to a cd+g format. Any ideas?

I can find a converter for cdg to avi, but not the other way around.

Thank you, all!

I tend to believe that a rotation cap would be show killer. I've never heard of anyone doing that. There are so many variables involved that I think we have to be flexible, yet remain fair and consistant. A large rotation may require the insertion method. Towards the end of the night, if you...

I haven't used any of the software you mentioned. I use JustKaraoke from Tricerasoft. At $25 you can't beat it. It keeps singer rotation and history and is VERY easy to use.

Just my two cents.

Feel free to send some of that snow my way, BD. I sure miss it! Hopfully you'll get a break in the weather soon so you can get back to work. In the meantime, be careful.

I still have to agree with Gregory on this subject. I do not insert new singers between old singers. New singers go to the back of the rotation, period. As a singer, I like to know who I am following. As a KJ, I like my singers to know who they are following. It cuts down on the amount of times I a...
