Sadly a buddy of mine's daughter is a Goth and worships the ground he slimes over.

Music? Bah Humbug! In the words of the great Jack Nicholson, "I'd rather stick needles in my eyes" :?

Is this a "work for free" for a couple of weeks deal, or is he going to pay you a "modest" fee untill/if you get the job? If the work for free option then he/she is simply trying to get some Karaoke on the cheap, as given there are lots of KJ's around, some will take up the try o...

Surely it's the song that's copyright, not the disc?

After all, how would anyone be able to prove that a karaoke system was used to generate the recording?

If the song is old enough (unlikely, I know), then there wouldn't be a problem with copyright.

Unlikely that deleting your favourites would help, as Hijacker programs are designed to live in memory and re-direct from there. As I said before, if it simply started happening for no apparent reason, then it is likely you have a Hijacker, sometimes called a "Browser helper", running. I'm...

I like the idea of a check list but call me cynical, if you wish but in my experience, the bottom line for most Karaoke venues is just that, the bottom line, i.e. the profit. Paying someone comes out of the profits (usually) and it doesn't matter how well you put over the concept of "good"...

Logically, if you're looking for something that you wouldn't associate with Yahoo and you still get re-directed, then it's odds on your browser has been "hijacked". If you've suddenly accquired a Yahoo Toolbar on your browser and you don't remember ticking a box for it, then you are almost...

Hi guys (& Sabrina), lots of interesting info here. Keep it coming. Anything that helps is always welcome. 8) I have to admit, being an old DOS man, I find comma's in filenames anathema. Very first thing I do is use a batch file renamer to remove them all, no exceptions! This is also necessary, ...

Hi Bigdog, you are correct, Re. manufacturers putting out the same song/artist combo time after time and it's something I'm trying to address with my collection. Unfortunately, unless the naming format for Karaoke files is followed to the letter, there are no duplicate finder programs that will accu...

Hi what I really need is advice as to which decoder will allow me to send to 2nd monitor Ta Hi Barneyboy, it's isn't the decoder/DVD player that transfers the video, it's the laptop. You have your standard screen and at the back, a second video output plug (15 pin). Assuming it's enabled in the lap...

With no way to get a real actual number for originial songs, how many are there as of right now? Considering English language karaoke CD+G songs only (the only ones that are of any use to me) I would estimate around 22,000. Among these are the virtually worthless songs like TV theme songs and Broad...

Very few people know enough about karaoke discs to have a preferred brand and those that do usually carry their own discs with them. I personally select the version that sounds most original and list only that version. Listing all those duplicates looks like you are padding your song books, and in ...

How really bad is it to have duplicates of songs? By that I mean by different Karaoke disc vendors, not simply 10 copies of Sunfly SF121-10 Some people definitely prefer one version over another. I get a lot of discs from Ebay, etc where they can be had for as little as £1 each (just over a $1) It's...
