Aw, c'mon guys! Live on the edge. Think of it as Opining Without a Safety Net.

I still say BIGGER is Better. That part's on the nose. Lower gauge wires (bigger) offer less resistance. If you've swapped 12 gauge for 16 gauge on a run of over 25 feet, then it's highly likely you hear the results of less resistance and correspondingly better speaker damping. The article I linked...

Here's another good primer on the basics of speaker cables: http://procosound.com/downloads/whitepapers/Understanding%20Speaker%20Cables.pdf One thing I have to ask though . . . were your old cables made by Monster? If so, you may want to check the jacks on the back of the speakers and in the amplifi...

ASCAP and BMI collect license fees from businesses that use music to attract and entertain customers. They use these fees to pay their members (songwriters, composers, and publishers) performance royalties for that music.

Re: BMI License

Apparently the BMI rep was by the deli again telling the owner she needs to buy a BMI license; her word was hassling. First, this is a franchise so does she really own the business or does the owner who has franchised this chain own it? Second, they have a "private" radio station that bro...

Re: Amp size and Auto Tune

I’m wondering, what are the rules of thumb regarding the amount of watts (amp size) in regards to room size? You now, small, medium and large restaurant, and then into small gymnasiums, etc. I’m currently using a 300 watt head with two Peavey PR15; which I can supplement with a pair of old school P...

This installer had NO reason to disconnect the cable coax from the TVs when their system uses the yellow, red, white wiring. You mean they hooked the DTV up using the composite inputs, completely disconnected the coax cable from the TV along with the custom wiring you'd done, and took all of the ca...

Re: Couple of questions about shows

4. Their rotation was based on a "tip" system. Large tips got you bumped up. Does anyone else do this? I very seldom even take tips. They had a heck of a crowd but were obviously playing favorites to regulars as some sang 3 or 4 times before others got to sing once. I won't hesitate to ta...

The only reason Windows is running on my laptop is because there's no pro quality karaoke hosting software that will run under linux. I've tried everything out there under Wine, and no-go.

Once I find a native linux hoster, or a windows one that will run with wine, Windows is history.

There's 22 current karaoke manufacturers I've seen listed. For you old timers, how many were there in the 90's? First there was DKKaraoke, then Pioneer, then Music Maestro.... Then in no particular order All Hits, Dangerous, BackStage, UK Karaoke, Doctor Music.....All of which have gone under or ha...

LOL - my political views will probably get me arrested in the near future, BigDog, and it won't matter which half of The Party - Republicrats or Demicans - is in power at the time.

They'll charge me with treason for advocating that the government abide by the strictures set forth in the Constitution.
