I talked to hubby about splitting the cost with her. I would be willing to split it; he said no go. He says she's getting a cut rate anwyay. We started out really cheap since her business was new, and our system was little more than a home system. Over one year later we're still at the same rate. I ...

Went over to the owner's house today to help her out with her books. Was telling her what I had learned on the BMI site and here. Also explained that this isn't something that we can do for her. She is paying a monthly fee to corporate for the radio, and the TV's are under a commercial account so sh...

You know, I think that is a sign of maturity that some people never figure out. The last time I drank to get hammered I wasn't old enough to do so legally. I drink when I got out because I need something to wet the whistle. Our bar bill is usually less than $20 for the night. It's scary how drunk so...

Easy way to cut out sleezebag ... their website has a contract that opens in pdf. You put your little check marks in the boxes that apply and it calculates the cost for the year. They have a minimum of $320 and a maximum of $9,000 and some change. Ypur print the contract, sign it and fax it to them....

By franchise owner I mean the person who sells the franchises to others. You put it better, jr2423 ... the person/company who owns the franchise rights.

She has had the business for over a year, so I presume anything that the previous owner had in place has expired.

Thank you, wiseguy. I think she really needs to consult with the franchise attorney, which is what I suggested to her when he first showed up.

I would think that, at the most, she would only need to add karaoke to the contract.

Thank you, moonrider. So she wouldn't be covered under the actual franchise owner's agreement for the radio station and televisions? On a different note, when I was on their website last night, I completed their contract which includes a fee calculator (you know they even charge if you allow dancing...

BMI License

Apparently the BMI rep was by the deli again telling the owner she needs to buy a BMI license; her word was hassling. First, this is a franchise so does she really own the business or does the owner who has franchised this chain own it? Second, they have a "private" radio station that broa...

I tend to agree that these laws are ridiculous; as are the rest of the nanny laws that our government (state and federal) seem to think we need. Every individual should be responsible for their own actions; stupid or otherwise. The bartenders are busy working; as mentiond, they can't possible know t...

I've never decided to go to a new karaoke venue because of the equipment they may, or may not, have. But I have decided not to go back because the equipment didn't sound right or the rotation wasn't what I considered fair.

Pretty funny, BD. In all honesty, I don't know enough to know if what they have is good, bad or indifferent. All I care about is that is sounds good. I agree. If you're going to have pictures, at least have the cords tied up or something. That's why I like our cabinet .., none of the wires show at a...

Wow. I don't know if I could do that. Maybe I'm too nice for my own good ... or too new to running shows.
