And yes, I visit karaoke forums. Please see that have not started this thread -- I replied with the information the poster was seeking. I see nothing wrong with that, but you are free to disagree. I am the creator and admin of this forum and all allowed posts are at my sole discretion. I have no pr...

I ripped the mp3 straight from the disc.
So, are you removing the lead vocals from the track with some software? I know from experience that this does not work well with most songs.

Thank you for your interest in the forum. I started this board to provide a place for people to find and/or offer information on anything karaoke related. For the most part, this is what it has been used for. I always welcome suggestions for new forum categories and I read every post daily. The &quo...

Actually, it uses midi and mp3 files. I, personally am using mp3.
Two questions. What is the name of the song you are wanting to make into a karaoke track? Do you have a good mp3 backing track for the song?

Not everyone is going to like your decisions. What I believe is, you don't like the way I run the contest, or you don't like the outcome, run your own and see if it's as easy as you think. It's a sad fact that, even if the KJ has nothing to do with selecting the judges, he/she will invariably take ...

I want to make a song I know into a karaoke track. The program saves the files as .kar files. Now, this song I want to do isn't on any karaoke disc as of yet that I can find (and I have looked extensively) so is there a way to burn this song on to a disc and be able to play it at my friends show on...

I registered, confirmed registration, got in the first time, but the next day I got an error message saying either my log on name wasn't right or my password wasn't right, or basically I was locked out. So, I had to go through the "I forgot my password" rout to get in. Since then, it has ...

I can "copy" cd+g's, but I can't create one. The Karaoke Home Producer outputs a file with a .cdg extension. This is actually a bin file but MTU uses the .cdg extension to make it compatible with some of their other software. If you change the file extension of the output files from .cdg ...

I can't agree that karaoke judges also have to be good singers! I wasn't implying that a person MUST be a good singer in order to be a good karaoke judge... thus my statement "Those who can't carry a tune do not have the vocal cords for singing but may still have a good ear for music". As...

I've found the "Karaoke Home Producer" by www.mtu.com to be the easiest to use CDG authoring software. Simply create the backing track in wav file format, import a text file with the lyrics, and then sync the lyrics with the music in real time. With just a little practice you can produce g...

surely tone deaf people only lack the ability to sing in tune themselves?....it surely doesn't mean that they aren't able to appreciate hearing a good singer? I think you're confusing people who are "tone deaf" with people who "can't carry a tune". Webster's dictionary defines t...

people I know (who would be the first to admit to being 'tone deaf') are also some of the harshest critics of those who profess to have musical ability and take the role of judging very seriously!
Harsh critic or not, if I were blind I would make a poor judge at a beauty contest.

it's a good idea to have judges who are not regulars to the contest venue so that they can be seen to be impartial. I also believe that this is the only 'criteria' that needs to be set for judges - except of course, a love of music and of being entertained. I agree that the judges should not be reg...

I have no personal experience with CAVS karaoke players. I have received several emails from visitors at my karaoke-tutor.com site that state that they have had nothing but trouble with their CAVS player. The 8000 songs are undoubtedly on Super CDG discs which is a format that I don't particularly c...

I have one track which just doesn't want to convert, all the other tracks within the same folder will convert fine. When you play the track with Winamp, are you using the CDG plugin? And if so, is the graphics portion of the track displaying? I'm asking this because the usual cause of the problem y...
