Don't know about you guys venues but what really bugs me is that the early end of the night, nobody wants to sing, 'cause they haven't had enough "Dutch" courage and by the night's end they're all pi**ed and think they're Pavarotti. My problem is that most of my "regulars" are On...

I have to say that at 1500 ft^2 your venue is pretty small. Only an 11.5 feet cube. As the guys above have said, try to stay away from amps that claim enormous power outputs and have a good look at the actual specification. The magic term is RMS power, not "Program", "Music" or &...

Fortunately, Rap (or as I call it Cr*p with the "C" missing) doesn't get sung(?) very often over here. Possibly because the I.Q. of the cretins who try it is so low that they can't actually read the lyrics onscreen! :P There are a couple of tracks in the standard book with the F-word (Sex ...

I LOVE Meatloaf and Queen! About the only time I hear Paradise is when hubby and I do it, which isn't that often. I don't even hear Stairway To Heaven that often. In fact, the only time I hear it is from non-regulars. I guess I'm lucky in that regard. By the way ... welcome Sandy. Good to have you ...

I bet your Press is exactly the same as our Press and the old adage rules; BAD NEWS SELLS PAPERS! The Press will play up all the bad aspects of things like this as Joe Public laps it up like cats do Catnip. Like Terrorism, the chances of you, or anyone you actually know being affected by this outbre...

This always seems to happen at some time over the night. At one venue I attend, there's one guy with has a voice, perfect for Joe Cocker or Chris Rea, who unfortunately thinks he can sing everything and is forever trying to muscle in on other singers. Unfortunately, turning down the Mike doesn't alw...

Over here, it's NOT illegal to make a backup of anything you buy, as long as it's for personal use. However, it has been mooted that format shifting, i.e. from CDG to MP3+G would be against the Law. However, I believe (and I might very well be wrong), that Sunfly and the rest of the UK producers tur...

I have to admit, this side of the Pond, that Meatloaf gets sung to death. Usually by women, I have to say?? When Paradise comes up, I just start banging my head on the bar to make the pain go away, these days. :D Mind you, it could be worse. Just think of Innuendo by Queen at 11 minutes long. I can ...

A system I saw used in a Pub a good few years ago appealled to me, big time. If you opened the book as normal, you got the song book sorted by Title. Pretty straightforward. However, flip the book over and open it, the song book was sorted by Artist. You would have to code the software to turn text ...

Hi DanG2006,
have you checked the ID2 & ID3 tags of your files?

If they correctly identify your tracks, then Tag&Reb=name will name the files for you.

If, however as Wiseguy seems to think, there is no Tag info., then you're in the wilderness, I suspect.

Actually, it sounds much more like a Kwizoke disc. 4000 tracks, even at just over 2Mb each would NOT fit on a dual layer DVD; at 2.5Mb, absolutely not. However, Kwizoke uses a bespoke Midi type algorithm and can have 1000's of tracks on a CD, never mind a DVD. The problem is that they can only be pl...

A program called Tag&Rename will happily rename files from the Tag info.

It will batch process loads of files at a time.

ExplorerXP is a free file manager that has very good batch renaming capability, including renumber.

Just Google for it.

The only hassle with it is that it doesn't seem to like working on more than about 750+ files at a time.

Otherwaise excellent. I use it rather than Windows File Manager.
