Re: Retired from karaoke itself
In today's world of pandemic one may have to do away with old school ways of taking requests unless you want to catch the virus. I am going to only get my requests via Remote request app and kiosk for those who don't have smartphones. Seems kind of a moot point considering you still have to pass th...

Re: Retired from karaoke itself
MP3+G (in particular zipped MP3+G) is by far the most popular karaoke file format available today. It is supported by virtually every karaoke hosting software application. It also offers more song titles and makes the best use of hard drive space. Properly naming your song files is extremely importa...

Re: Retired from karaoke itself
Seriously considering (attempting) to KJ here in the Rio Grande Valley (Pharr, Tx) in the same type venues as you speak of DanG2006. There are numerous RV Resorts/Nursing/Assisted Living/VA homes down here that could use some weekly (early) evening 50's-60's-Country music fun. I've owned a RSQ (Neo...

Re: Need help with setup these devices together for karaoke home system
Where and why did you get all those unnecessary electronics? Of all that stuff all you need are the player, Yamaha mixer, microphones, and speakers. Those are active speakers that do not need a separate amplifier and everything the rest of those components do can be handled by the mixer. You simply ...

Re: Need Help With Setting up Karaoke for Home
The receiver in a karaoke system is used as an amplifier when you use passive (non-powered) speakers. Since you are using active speakers (each speaker having its own integrated amplifier) you will have no need for a receiver at all. All audio will go through the mixer and the mixed signal will go o...

Re: Need Help With Setting up Karaoke for Home
I see nothing wrong with any of that equipment. The Yamaha mixer has other connection options additional to USB making it east to connect to virtually any TV. You should take Dan's suggestion that you go with software like Siglos Karaoke Player/Recorder . It has a feature to let you search for and p...

Re: New to Mp3 cdg
What you have are known as MP3+G karaoke songs. You can use Power CD+G Burner and blank CD-R discs to create CD+G discs that will play in virtually all CD+G disc players. See this Create a CD+G Disc from MP3+G Files tutorial . You don't "burn" files to a hard drive. You either copy them or...

That machine does not play video formats like MP4 and MP4 cannot be converted to a format that the machine supports. It does have support for iPad and tablets so you may be able to play the MP4 on one of those devices connected to the karaoke machine.

Re: Does the perfect software exist
When I DJ I use a very stable program designed specifically for DJing. When I perform karaoke I use a very stable program designed specifically for hosting karaoke. It's very quick and simple to switch between the two. I turn filler music on only when I have singers that are slow to come get the mic...
