branching out with a 2nd system

Post by Superstar »

I've been in the karaoke business for only 5 years. We just got a laptop with hoster installed. We're thinking of purchasing the rest of what we need to have a 2nd system, which we'd like to hire someone to run when we're already booked. What's your advice on how to begin this process? How much should we pay the KJ we hire if we own all the equipment, book the gigs, etc? Is it profitable to branch out with a 2nd system, or more of a pain?

First of all, how big and busy do you want to be?

Second, you have to buy the second system and a vehicle to haul it. Insurance and everything else.

Third, you have to find people you can trust to not steal everything. Then they have to be able to do it, the way you want it done. Drivers license.

Forth, how much you pay depends on how reliable you want them to be.

Fifth, are you buying all the legal music to run a second system?

Sixth, you need to have someone ready, before you book the extra jobs.

Seventh, is it profitable? Any amount of money over zero, is a profit.
