Touch Screen Hosting Software

Post by wiseguy »

Have any of you tried out touch screen hosting applications. I've been playing around with the Jukebox Jockey program. It doesn't have every feature I like in a hosting application but I could certainly see using it at gigs.

Got to be honest, I'm not a fan of touchscreen "anything".

I appreciate manufacturers want us to go that direction as it means smaller, thinner hardware and less attachment problems but personally, I hate them.

Apart from anything else, continuous "prodding" WILL eventually knacker (technical description  ) the screen.

At the very least it will be de-sensitised at the frequently used points.

The software looks OK but I'd use it with a keyboard.

Sandy.

I have very little experience with touch screen and have no idea about durability issues. I see people with the mobile devices with touch screen and they seem to hold up well. I don't think I could ever give up the keyboard completely.

Unfortunately, the powers that be will force you in that direction to cut costs.

As for the software, I tried downloading the demo but it wouldn't install on my XP machine.

Maybe just me but it didn't inspire me with confidence.
