need help ripping

Post by Islandkaraoke »

After much debate I decided to go out and buy a laptop to run my shows with. The laptop has no problem reading my cdg disks but I'm really struggling with how to rip them. I installed audiograbber and attempted to rip my first CDG and after 90 minutes it appears to be complete. My concerns are these:
1) 90 minutes for one CD?!?! is this normal? If so I'm gonna be at this for a very long time.
2) After I rip the CDG how do I save them to my external hard drive?

1) If it takes that long it must have been ripped at 1x speed. You need an mp3 encoder to compress it. Get CDGRip from www.karaokeware.com as it has methods to rip to the hard drive as well as enable you to select speed of ripping.
2) You can set the folder you are sending it to to the drive you want it in.
I.E. e:\Karaoke.

There is a $5 program called KJ Rip N Zip. Rips, Names and zips the files. It works with the KJ Pro song book program database.

I have a destination file on my ripping computer and I copy and paste the song files wherever I want them.

It should take about a minute per song to rip.

With Power CD+G Burner and a 52 speed drive I can rip a 10 song disc in under 6 minutes with zero errors.
