KjPro closing down!
KjPro closing down!
Imagine my shock at finding a notice on KjPro's home page indicating the imminent closure of their business.
If I'm not the first to log this sad event, I apologise for bringing it up, if it has already been posted but I would like to wish all those involved with the site my very best wishes.
You WILL be missed.
Sandy.

There are a good number of programs that will already do this, i.e. freeware directory/folder readers that produce a text file of your folder contents.Bigdog wrote:What about all the download songs?
So it looks like the next best thing will be a program that makes a songbook from reading the files on your illegally format shifted hard drive?
Does anyone think the actions of Sound Chice could be killing karaoke..and related businesses?
You can then use a spreadsheet, i.e. Excel or Open Office to generate a list.
If you want to be fancy, you could make a PDF using CutePDF or the freeware PDF995 and then print it as a booklet, getting 4 pages per A4 sheet.
O.K., it means you need to do some work but you can certainly get it done.
My main hope is that KjPro can find some way of keeping up an online database. Even if they can't update it, it's still a magnificent reference facility.
If not, might they perhaps make a downloadable file with all their data in some standard format, i.e. Excel, PDF, Word or even text.
At the end of the day, the only people Sound Choice will hurt is themselves.
I've already started boycotting their product and will actively encourage others to do the same.

That's a good point.Bigdog wrote:They were a good info source for songs...how will we ever know if a song has been made into a karaoke song now...??
However, even a cursory web search found this site;
http://www.unlimitedjams.com/homepage.html
They claim to have >180,000 songs. Obviously with many repeats and different cover versions.
However, I immediately got an epic fail searching for "These foolish things" that should have come up with at least Bryan Ferry AND Rod Stewart but only Stewart came up.
Searching for Elvis came up with 27 pages of tracks.
However, unlike KjPro, there is no disc ID with the info, so not all that great, I'm afraid.

This one's not too bad but still failed on "These foolish things";

Just tried it and it's pretty well up to date, certainly on Sunfly discs.Lshiny wrote:Try this out. http://www.icroons.com/
