I have just got a 20” pc monitor will this do the job of using the monitor as a karaoke screen for just the words coming up
If i get something like this VGA HD AV with Optical Output Cable for Xbox 360 | eBay
will it work ???????? or can you think of something else that would do the job

As to your 20" monitor, how are you going to mount it for viewing?
Will it be free-standing? (possibility that it might get knocked over)
Is the lead you mention long enough to site it well?
Also on the lead you propose, unless I'm not seeing something, you don't acyually have a link in your post to the item so I doubt anyone will be able to comment.

My 20” monitor is not a problem as to where it will be mounted as i am not asking advice about it ??

You are coming out of the back of your PC and going into the external monitor?
That cable won't do it.
VGA to VGA cable. I'm assuming female to male.
First you need to have a duel display feature in your PC. Look in the control panel....display folder and see if you can turn on the #2 monitor. If you can not do this you can not hook up the second monitor for the words.
