Beginner... Need Help Creating System!

Post by antjam »

Hi -- I am looking to create a home karaoke setup via computer. I have a Macbook Pro. I have a Samson Stagepass 300 PA system and microphones. What do I need to:

1. Get karaoke from my Macbook Pro to my Stagepass?
2. Hookups, monitor?
3. How do I get karaoke graphic files?
4. Can I get a basic general karaoke library?

HELP HELP HELP

This is for my home gameroom/bar. I need simple, easy setup. Thanks!

And this depends on the TV you are hooking up to.

I'll let someone else answer the last 2 questions.

Hi antjam and welcome to the forum.

First off, there are few karaoke software applications for MAC operating systems. I would think that KJams would be your best bet for karaoke ripping and file playing programs.

The type of karaoke song tracks you will be looking for will be of the CD+G format. These come in the form of karaoke CD+G discs or MP3+G files. You need the proper software to rip song tracks from CD+G discs to the MP3+G format which is the industry standard and supported by virtually all karaoke file playing software. See this article for some ideas on building your song library.

By the way, I picked up the Xenyx 1202FX on walmart.com for $75. You cant find it anywhere else for less than $100.

I love this mixer for home karaoke!
