song list

I had/have software somewhere on my computer that will worm through all of your songs in a folder and make a list of them. The bad part is i cannot remember what the name of the program is. Can you all give me some hints as to what programs would do a list this way? You would do the long process of it seeking through your files then you could export to an xml or excel sheet.

Any ideas?

There are literaly 100's of programs out there that will read folders/directories on your PC.

Just Google for "Freeware folder indexer" (without the quotes).

The one I use regularly is Karen's Directory Printer, found here;

There are several useful tools there.

the Latshaw appears to be the one that I have and couldn't find. I have 4 hard drives and it seemed to have fallen into the Abyss.

Hi again,
in a similar fashion, there are many hard drive logging systems available.

I often use Saleen Scan FS that you can find here;

Click the "Direct download" link, rather than the CNET downloader.

Install carefully as there be be toolbar installs and the like that you should best refuse.

You can scan all four of your hard drives and then search for a sample word, e.g. generator.

Scan FS is lethally fast and you should be able to locate your files quickly.

The default installation path for Song List Generator is;

"C:\Program Files\Song List Generator\"

without the quotes.
