What are you trying to accomplish with that information? The karaoke cdg websites can tell you what are the most popular discs that are selling now. However, because something is a hot seller today doesn't say anything about it's staying power. IMO what is most requested at one karaoke venue can be ...

MARLENA'S RESPONSE TO MY FIRST POSTING IN THIS THREAD WITH WHICH WISEGUY CONCURRED: Bars were created for the drunken sailor or the average rig hand. Somewhere originally to get away from the acceptable public norm. Heaven forbid even a place to get away from the wife. NOW although the bar industry ...

wiseguy Excellent points. I had given much thought to those situations before I opened my big mouth. Here's what I concluded: a) Because THERE IS a (recently changed, again) movie rating system, people who would be offended know when not to go. And the new system will make it even clearer why the ra...

Dan, How would you conduct your business if you did a regular gig at a venue that is not rowdy? Let's say at a venue that has a bar and a decent menu so people come to eat as well as drink; Let's say it has a mix of clientele 30-60 years of age. Let's say that some people like pop, some country, som...

Thank you Dan,

What you have suggested is best for you, in light of the circumstances you have described, makes perfect sense to me. And under said circumstances I would conduct myself as you do. I've frequented many a biker bar myself.

Wiseguy 1) My reference to the 6 votes in favor of editing a song book along with my reference to your statement that everyone you know is against censoring singers, were made to support my conclusion that the "average joe" visiting this web site would not be offended by the posting I made...

Whether passive or active, Wiseguy caused the programming that created the (editing) filter that exists on this site. WHAT PART OF EDITING DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND, WISEGUY? While "bitch" may not be a swear word to you, many take offense to it. Marlena, who proclaims there should be no editing...

Big Dog Songs, books, movies and anything else that has "the" at the beginning of the title are problematic. In karaoke, there is the availability of an artist's catalog to minimize confusion. While you may want to change your catalog, I assure that you will not eliminate the confusion in ...

While I can't stop the administrator from editing my posts, what critirea is used to selectively do so? Marlena self-edited the word "bitch" in her posting. When I spelled the word “bitch” out, there was no interference from the administrator. So, while Marlena sees a need to edit the word...

Sexual healing , to my knowledge, hasn't caused a stir since it first appeared over 25 years ago. I used the term "vulgar" to describe what I find to be offensive. "Vulgar" means rude, bad-mannered or tasteless. By definition, civilized society avoids such displays. For those wh...

Marlena/Wiseguy ALL HOSTED KARAOKE SHOWS ARE NOT DONE AT BARS I'll repeat for both of you a couple of questions from my previous post that went unanswered. I asked in my prior post what harm would be done, in effect, to "play it safe" and exclude all vulgar material, even though I admit I ...

I've established and then changed the conventions I use for creating my catalog more times than I'd like to remember. I do have catalogs both by Title and by Artist. If you have the software to do this, I recommend you prepare, in addition to anything else you may have, a master catalog sorted by Di...
