<snip>The industry needs to see the change in demands and know how to reach these demands, thus making money. I would rather buy a complete CD with the music I enjoy than what is shoved down my throat just to get ONE song and pay 10-20 dollars in doing so. i.e. Paradise by the Dashboard Light (By B...

KaraokeJunkie I'm glad you pay for your music, to me that is expected. However, if you bring in a burned disc, I have no way of knowing whether or not you paid for the song. Unfortunately many people do not and, if you've been watching, several karaoke manufacturers have faded from the scene, for on...

We have a popular radio DJ that comes in periodically but she doesn't like people to know who she is as it makes it to hard for her to party. Other than that we have a lady who has a section in the Friday paper but she has never asked to be bumped. When you do bump them up do you announce what their...

karaokeguy, I think I've seen the same system on a write-on, wipe-off board. The singer cannot list a new song until they have sung the one currently in rotation. Do your singers hand you their slips when they come up to sing? I suppose you announce the rotatation a couple of singers in advance so e...

But if people are getting them free I'm not sure what would be considered a reasonable price. If people are not paying for a track because only one person buys it and then shares it with X number of people how on earth can a manufacturer be expected to lower their prices? Also, I can't see how anyon...

I'm guessing the company whose website you are promoting is a paying customer and that that is the reason you support them so strongly... I'm also guessing that since it doesn't cost you money when this type of thing is promoted and used is what makes it something you condone. To each his/her own.. ...

Yeah, I know, a lot of people will play his burns and not know he has the original. Heck, there is a link to let you buy the info from a company on here so you can download all the songs you want for free. This is an area, for me, where if I don't condone something I act on it. Not only this but the...

<snip>.While I don’t condone illegal sources for karaoke hosts laws or forums on the net are not going to make a difference. What most don’t understand is the bar owners, patrons, and singers are sophisticated now and will determine whether a host makes it or not. Believe it or not honesty hard wor...

Do you also think that the sharing of mp3 files, which is much more widespread, is going to make the audio recording industry disappear? Do you know of anyone who has never downloaded an mp3 file that was ripped from an original recording? There's no difference between downloading mp3's and mp3+g's...

First of all, I haven't seen the particular advertisement you are discussing. I will certainly take a look now... That being said: DanG2006, <snip>The file sharing of karaoke songs will no more make karaoke disappear than mp3 sharing will make audio recordings disappear. The vast majority of those w...

wiseguy, In answer to your question... yep.. I figured that statement would be zeroed in on, no problem... One of our shows, same bar, over 8 years (knock on wood).. I guess it's good we're not in your area... We just visited another city and went to karaoke each night, in that town, at least the 3 ...

We don't fill out slip for people either. When we started one show a guy calls me over and tells me the name of the song he wanted to do and told me to look it up for him, fill it out and turn it in for him. I told him that while I am with the karaoke we do not provide that service. He then grabbed ...
