People with special dietary needs are not the problem. Cheap people that drink free water are the problem. Having a medical condition should not be confused with CHEAP. Drinking just water is costing the bar more than the alcohol/soda drinkers. Alcohol/soda drinks contribute to the cash flow and pa...

OK what do you do if you CAN NOT drink Liquor or Soda due to some problem medical or otherwise and want to go sing Karaoke? Not many clubs I know of serve diet or sugar free drinks except water and I would be dammed if I would pay $2.00 a bottle for water, knowing that most of it is really from the ...

Clean up your own house then tell the owner of the bar just how much trouble HE could get in if the Karaoke Cops just happened to stop by and found out that the NEW GUY was running an illegal show. I think that the day is not far off that if you report illegal shows to the manufactures of discs that...

Ahhh this is really nothing new except it is now done on the internet. I remember back in the 70's when I was stationed at Keesler AB in Mississippi we were told NOT to buy beer at the PX and take it to a great beach that was located in Alabama. The Alabama state cops would sit and wait for out of s...

Yep I hate local events. Lost a job because of the local Fiesta weeks. They went on for 3 weeks and the bar that I was at laid me off during those weeks because of low turnouts. I had only been there 3 weeks prior to the "Events" and things had gone well, but when Fiesta started it all cam...

Well you're probably going to rib me but I make my own speaker cables. I use 12 gauge 3 wire outdoor extension cords and good connectors which I hand solder on the ends. You can get the cords which come in various lengths to fit your need. I buy 50' cords and cut them in half giving me 2 25' cords f...

Then how can Compuhost sell their software that includes a designed recording device if its illegal? I'm sure they did their research as well as far as legalities go. Lots of company's sell stuff that is illegal to own, just to name a few, Switchblades, Automatic Weapons (without legal licenses), B...

That could happen just about anywhere you wanted to get a gig, if another KJ had a gig there before and he sucked and got axed and you took over the general populace will still think that karaoke at XYZ sucks because they don't know a new KJ is there. Need some posters or something that announces UN...

Doesn't sound like the two convictions mentioned were just your local neighborhood KJs. 200 computers  Ebay, thousands of songs....they were a major operation. Has anyone heard what the final sentencing was? I couldn't find anything and all the article says is what they could get not what th...

This would happen ONCE after that I would tell her she is not welcome to sing anymore and not to come up to the stage or touch my equipment. Second offense I would have her 86ed. I have a statement in the front of my song book that says I can pull the plug at anytime if someone is not following the ...

If the owner is complaining that some that sing are not drinking then it is up to him to either tell them they can't sing or tell them to leave. A bar is not really a public place and you can't just come in and get free entertainment and if that's the way he wants to run it then it's his problem not...

If the bar wants you to wait until some game is over then wait with the understanding that you are there to work and if there is no work then you still get paid. It is not your fault that they want to watch a game or whatever that keeps you from doing you job. It's just like any other job, if you wo...

Uhhh why didn't he notify management this guy was carrying. As far as I know there are NO STATES where it is legal to carry a gun with or without a concealed permit.

I would have done the same but on the way out I would have notified management and after I was outside called the cops.
